Equipment to Make Beats - The 4 Things You Need to Make Your Own Rap Beats

This is probably the most important piece of equipment to make beats. Your choice of software could have implications in the style you develop as a music producer. But for somebody starting from zero I would recommend to not pay too much for this yet.

Most of the peripherals needed to make beats come with light versions of popular music software. Even though the purpose is to temp you to upgrade to the more expensive versions, these light editions have more than enough sounds to keep anyone going for a long time.

If you have absolutely no experience you could check something like Sonic Pro, a very popular online program that for only .00 USD offers a sequencer, sounds, instruments and more important, video tutorials on how to make your own beats.

An Audio Interface

One of the most important reasons why to get a decent audio interface is their handling of a common problem with computers and music, latency. This is the amount of time that it takes the computer to process an incoming signal.

Latency can create very annoying issues when making beats, like playing a midi note and hearing the sound a second later. It would be extremely difficult to record live that way. Also if you want to connect instruments, external synths and drum machines, audio interfaces feature the proper inputs.

A Midi Controller

Most of today midi controllers plug to the computer via USB and are recognized automatically by most music software, requiring almost no technical knowledge to get them going.

The most popular midi controllers come in 2 flavors, keyboard or pads. The keyboard is the most popular and the most practical, but rubber pads can yield more rhythmically interesting beats. Even better is the new breed of controllers that blend both together.

Monitors

It might seem like the least important feature for someone getting started, but this depends on how much you enjoy making music. The issue lies in the reproduction of the entire frequency spectrum. Small computer speakers by default mess with the audio content, hyping up frequencies because of their inability to fully reproduce them.

Even though the monitors at beginner prices are not the full solution, as you go up in price you start to get a more realistic image of the sound you're working on. At lower prices most monitors still hype up the sound a little, but in a way that compliments music making and not video game playing.

3 Things Your Beat Making Software Must Have

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

If you are looking for a beat making software, then make sure that it satisfied at least 3 basic requirements. It is not an easy task with hundreds of these beat makers online out there to choose from. However, these are the 3 things that a good software should come with.

3 Things Your Beat Making Software Must Have

I have tested with a lot of these software and found that they are lacking in many ways. And to sum it all, these are the 3 main criteria that you should look for when choosing your beat maker:

After sales service and technical support. This is the top in my list. You see, we are not buying a book where no support is needed but software that constantly requires update etc. It will be frustrating if you cannot find somebody to help you when you have a problem, or that you were made to wait a few days before you get a reply. This happens more frequent with online purchase. Sometimes, customer service is a non-existence. Therefore, be sure that you can contact the owner or their support team before you pull out your wallet.

Detailed video tutorials and documentation. I have never read the instruction manual that comes with all electrical products that I bought. There were so many words and the fonts were so small that it really turns me off. You can call me lazy but isn't it more helpful if they have video tutorials instead. Unless the software is very user friendly and totally self intuitive. Watching how to use it itself is fun.

The software must have extensive editing functions. You will be severely limited if it has little editing functions. The more editing functions it has, the more unique beats you can create. Imagine an 8 track music sequencer vs a 16 track music sequencer. Which one do you think will give you more flexibility? That's right! Besides the sequencer, it should also come with tempo adjustment, track volume controls, drum machine, ample chords and tracks; drums, guitar, piano, brass, loops, combos, etc.

The one that I'm using to make beats online also comes with MP3 export ability meaning that I can save the beats that I have made in MP3 format. And this is really important as MP3 file format is the most popular media format that can be played on most if not all media players. You will also have access to a member area that provides unlimited usage with lots of music instrument download, free music beats download to start with and lots of tutorials on chord charts, rhythm exercises, etc. for just a one time fee.

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

Like when purchasing any other item for your home sound studio, you should be careful to select a beat making machine. The price and quality can vary considerably.

Want a Beat Making Machine to Create Awesome Music? Here Are 3 Things You Absolutely Must Have

You should realize that not every product out there can provide the high quality sound you want. Alternately, a machine may be able to create a great sound, but cannot create the kind of sound you need for your type of music.

How do you choose? Well, there are a range of sticking points you should contemplate before making the final decision on which beat making machine you are going to invest your time, effort and money in.

1. Firstly, you need to be practical. You need to do your research and look into what functions the machine has and the asking price. You need be sure you get value for your money. Most musicians who have home studios are just starting out, and if that is the case, you probably do not have money to burn. So you really need to be practical and know what your budget is for this piece of technology.

2. What specific capabilities do you need? For example, do you need a lot of editing capabilities or perhaps a large sound bank? What about tutorials and support? You do not want to lose too time on the learning curve. These are really important things to consider because some beat making machines come with them, and some without.

3. What will be the ultimate purpose for your beat making machine? Do you want to just focus on drum beats? If so, then you probably will need a machine with preloaded drums. What about other instrument? Do you need specific ones? Each beat maker machine is different.

The beat maker machine is there to help you create the sound you want. Regardless of your style though, there are some things every machine should have.

For starters, there should be a good selection of instruments you can play with. Do not settle for just the basics. To create a truly unique sound you often need to try different instruments and sometimes in a variety of combinations.

Your beat making machine should also have good sampling features and mid range sounds. Not using sample already? Then you probably need to start! This is an important trend in the music industry that will only increase in popularity. So, your beat maker machine should offer lots of sampling features which can make it easier to get started.

Your new machine should not only provide all the essentials for making any kind of music you want, it should also be affordable! Your equipment should include all the basics mentioned above, so you are not limited in what you can create. Not only should you have complete artistic freedom, but it should make producing your work more affordable and efficient too!

Not only will this help you with music production of your own type of music, it can also help you learn to produce music in genres. Who knows? This may open up other creative opportunities for you in the future.

Your Make A Beat Program Will Only Work With These 3 Things

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

In this article we are going to go over the clear outlines you need to have put in place so your make a beat program is not only used to make your unique beats, but also puts some money back into your projects so you can progress and expand your equipment to the next stage. In a world where people have so many things to mind, things can get a little crazy when you lose the most important part of surviving everyday life: Your motivation. Initially you get fired up in doing something with your make a beat program, but in a short amount of time it seems that somebody just doused off that fire, crippling your drive to move forward. At times, it may be difficult to get your head together and get that creative flow running.

Your Make A Beat Program Will Only Work With These 3 Things

But losing motivation when using your make a beat program can be rooted into so many causes. Usually, the main culprit behind it is a lack of vision that guides and inspires you to move forward. Here are simple yet profound tips on how to keep you motivated as you pursue your dreams with your beat program.

1. Know your purpose:

Sometimes it pays off to reflect on what you want for yourself. Why is it that you're doing what you're doing? Answering this simple question will help you to realize the purpose of you using your make a beat program. Search deep inside and you will find the reason behind why you are doing it this.

2. Visualize your dreams

After knowing your purpose, try to visualize your dreams relative to that drive. Simple things like painting a picture of your goal-a car, own house, a world trip, a record label, really helps in the discernment process. Do you see yourself in that picture? Hang that picture where you can see it when using your beat program so you can be reminded of it every day. This serves as your motivation to wake up in the morning and face the challenges of making beats.

3. Define specific goals

Once you know what type of beats you want to make with your make a beat program, you have to set your mindset toward achieving that goal. Goals help you in achieving your dreams, to make a great track that would give you that massive rush when you pull off your own slick sound, would be what it's all about.

But how do you set goals? First off is that you have to be specific. For instance, you start on a business and you set a specific goal of earning ,000 gross income for the first month, or less it's up to you. Monitoring this goal would be easy enough, and it keeps your motivation going until you hit the ,000 mark. Sounds cheesy but "IT WORKS"

Note also that your goal has to be something you know you cannot easily do. If you know you can reach that ,000 mark without much effort, then set the bar higher. It has to be a goal that challenges you. This motivates you to excel and surpass what you would normally accomplish, making you a better person in the process. But at the same time, it should also be a realistic one. Don't aim for the ,000,000 mark if the conditions around you clearly tell you that your business can only earn ,000 max. Otherwise this will stress you out because despite all the efforts you've put in, same with your make a beat program, (which will take a short time to learn how to use it effectively), it feels like you just don't seem like you're hitting it.

And then! BAMM! You get that massive rush. These simple steps will surely sustain your motivation in reaching your goals. Get inspired. Know what you want, and go through a process of knowing how you would achieve it with your make a beat program. Map out your dreams and then do them!
