Online Drum Machine To Make Music Beats Use DUBturbo Beat Maker Software

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

If your reading this then your most likely looking for an online drum machine or software you can download so you can make beats for your music. Lucky for you I have some great tips and advice on what drum machine software to use and how to use it.

Online Drum Machine To Make Music Beats Use DUBturbo Beat Maker Software

Everyone is different and will have their own preferences but when I want to make beats using my computer I like to use professional beat making software like the online drum machine and beat maker - DUBturbo. In the past I used a combination of programs like Sonic Producer and an MPC but now I have more fun and find it so much easier using DUBturbo to make beats because the program is very professional and has all the features I need to produce my music fast.

What is DUBturbo anyway?

Simply put DUBturbo is a beat sequencer program you can use to make beats on your computer that has hundreds of sounds, samples and instrumentals of just about any kind of musical instrument you can think of. I'm a really big fan of this software and here is why.

The interface is very cool and the panel layout makes it a breeze to work with. The drum machine panel has keyboard triggers that make it feel like you're using an MPC, I still use the MPC I bought but not as much because using DUBturbo you can tap in your beats on the fly using your keyboard.

Making a beat is as simple as creating some bars to work with, pressing record and then tap in your beat using the keyboard. Then loop that and repeat what you did but add a new layer over the top with a different beat. Of course you can get as technical as you want and create your beats by drawing them in but that is just a fast way to use the program.

The really good thing about this software is that it is so easy to use even the complete newbie can make pro beats. Now I'm not saying that DUBturbo is the be all and end all of beat makers but it has to be my personal favorite.

Equipment to Make Beats - The 4 Things You Need to Make Your Own Rap Beats

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

A Music Production Software

Equipment to Make Beats - The 4 Things You Need to Make Your Own Rap Beats

This is probably the most important piece of equipment to make beats. Your choice of software could have implications in the style you develop as a music producer. But for somebody starting from zero I would recommend to not pay too much for this yet.

Most of the peripherals needed to make beats come with light versions of popular music software. Even though the purpose is to temp you to upgrade to the more expensive versions, these light editions have more than enough sounds to keep anyone going for a long time.

If you have absolutely no experience you could check something like Sonic Pro, a very popular online program that for only .00 USD offers a sequencer, sounds, instruments and more important, video tutorials on how to make your own beats.

An Audio Interface

One of the most important reasons why to get a decent audio interface is their handling of a common problem with computers and music, latency. This is the amount of time that it takes the computer to process an incoming signal.

Latency can create very annoying issues when making beats, like playing a midi note and hearing the sound a second later. It would be extremely difficult to record live that way. Also if you want to connect instruments, external synths and drum machines, audio interfaces feature the proper inputs.

A Midi Controller

Most of today midi controllers plug to the computer via USB and are recognized automatically by most music software, requiring almost no technical knowledge to get them going.

The most popular midi controllers come in 2 flavors, keyboard or pads. The keyboard is the most popular and the most practical, but rubber pads can yield more rhythmically interesting beats. Even better is the new breed of controllers that blend both together.

Monitors

It might seem like the least important feature for someone getting started, but this depends on how much you enjoy making music. The issue lies in the reproduction of the entire frequency spectrum. Small computer speakers by default mess with the audio content, hyping up frequencies because of their inability to fully reproduce them.

Even though the monitors at beginner prices are not the full solution, as you go up in price you start to get a more realistic image of the sound you're working on. At lower prices most monitors still hype up the sound a little, but in a way that compliments music making and not video game playing.

Free Software For Music Production

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

Free software for music production is a great way to get started in composing your own music. However you'll quickly find that as you delve into creating more and more beats the limitations of these free software applications will become apparent.

Free Software For Music Production

Getting into the music industry is extremely difficult, given it is a highly competitive market place. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of people trying to get in every day, and sadly a lot of them fail, for a number of reasons, but primarily for the poor quality of their beats. So producing quality beats is one simple step in the right direction. If you get a name for yourself as a quality beat maker then, you could potentially have producers head hunting you.

However, before you are able to mix-it-up with producers you will first need to get your beat making skills up to a reasonable level. One of the best ways to do this is to teach yourself how to use various types of computer based beat software programs. You can find some free and paid software solutions online.

A major benefit when getting into computer based beat programs is that they do not take up additional space in your music studio, like a drum machine, keyboard or musical instruments. In fact if you have a laptop then your studio becomes instantly portable, which means you can be creating beats where ever you are.

Another major benefit is that a lot of these applications come with a huge library of pre-recorded beats and midi sounds, which in some cases can replace bulky instruments like the drums, keyboard and guitars. Of course there is one proviso here, the quality of the sound depends on the software application you choose, and the capability of your sound card.

Take time to learn how to use a beat maker software application correctly. Understand how to use the features properly, and then you'll be producing the high quality music that you hear on the radio and television everyday. You'll find that you can create quality sounds in no time at all with minimal cost and a lot of fun.

A really good way of learning how to use a beat maker software program is to try to reproduce the music of one of your favorite songs. This will help you to get an appreciation for the instruments involved; how to differentiate the sounds and how to reproduce the sounds of each instrument. I've found this to be one of the best ways to learn how to produce your own beats, because you can use ideas from songs and modify them to create your own unique sound.

There are literally hundreds of different software applications available online and the rule of thumb I always use is you get what you pay for. If you don't have much cash to buy a beat making program then you could use a free audio package like Audacity. Audacity is really basic in features and does not come with pre-recorded beats, however you can create multiple tracks and save them in mp3 and wav formats. Fifty dollars will give you a reasonable software product that will come with pre-made beats and midi sounds. So start out with a free product first if your budget doesn't allow for it, then upgrade and buy a product that offers you more features. As you get good at creating music you will need to upgrade to a better software product to be competitive in the music business.

Background Music For Videos - Make Your Own Music For Your Videos

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

I had a lot of trouble finding good background music for the videos I was making until I found a program that you can use to make your own music and now I don't have to worry about breaking copyright laws either.

Background Music For Videos - Make Your Own Music For Your Videos

When I first started making my own videos I didn't really know anything about copyright infringement or about any of the copyright laws until I submitted a video on YouTube.com and received one of those copyright infringement warning messages. After reading on some of the websites about these laws I started to think about other ways I can get music for my videos, I never really though about making my own.

I assumed you would need to either be musically minded or a be a musician to use music making software but when I done some research on music beat maker programs I was actually pretty shocked at how easy it looked to make your own music.

So I started making my own music for videos I was making and turns out everyone I show really liked the videos and the music. Now I make background music for videos and games for a small fee which makes me think I could start making a living from making music beats for people as a business of some kind. But for now it is just for fun and some spare cash here and there.

Make sure the software you choose has lots of training videos and has good reviews. There are some really good ones out there for under so you don't have to spend a lot of money to get started. Also make sure the software has plenty of sound kits and samples already built-in, this way you won't have to fork out any extra money to get the sounds you want.

If you have ever put a video on YouTube.com or any video sharing website that has someone elses music in it did you know you could be breaking the law? If you don't want to receive a nasty email like I did then I recommend you check out music making software or try and use your own music in some way.

It's really not as hard as you may think, and you will be surprised how much talent is hiding inside of you. When I first created my music for my videos I was pretty proud and my friends thought they where really good as well.

How to Make a Professional Music Video at Home

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

How to Create Your Own Professional Music Video from Home

How to Make a Professional Music Video at Home

Today, many who go web-surfing run into spoof music videos that get millions of views. Sadly, more than half of those people who got 1,000,000+ views missed an opportunity of earning ,000 or more from just that YouTube upload. Why is this so? I will let you know near the end of this article. Shall we get back to the topic?

For those who think it isn't possible to make a high quality music video from home like the ones you see on television, I am here to tell you that it IS possible to make even BETTER videos. You may not be able to create one as good on the first try, but again who is? It takes perfection; following these 5 steps:

Step 1: Music

Of course a music video isn't a music video without music. Find an instrumental that you want to create a song to and download it. A good program that I recommend for downloading instrumentals would be Frostwire. You can download it from frostwire.com. It is completely free to download and use. Or so it was the last time I checked. Be careful when downloading from Frostwire though. The first two or three files at the top are usually tricks, but you can easily tell them apart. The false ones usually match your search phrase word for word, letter for letter, and are lower case. Also check the file size to the right of each result. Instrumentals and songs are usually at an average file size of 1,000 Kb for each minute of a song. So if an instrumental you're looking for is about 3 minutes long, the file size should be around 3,000 Kb. The false ones at the top are usually at a small file size, around 10-30 kb.

I used to use Frostwire until I began creating my own music with music production software. If you want to make money from YouTube, I suggest you make your own instrumentals like I do. Anyone can learn to make a simple beat. Some good music production software I recommend to use for the PC would be Fruity Loops Studio. The latest version is FL Studio 9, but FL Studio 5, 6, 7, and 8 are just as good. If you want to pay for it, you can buy it at your local computer store or online at flstudio.com, but if you want it for free, I suggest you use Frostwire, since it can also download programs for free too. For the Mac users, your computer should already come with a music production software called GarageBand. In my opinion, GarageBand's instruments sound more professional than Fruity Loops. Both programs have user manuals available in the help menu and Garageband has a beginner tutorial. For any other tutorials, I suggest that you search YouTube for Fruity Loops Beginner Tutorials or Garageband beginner tutorials.

Other PC Music Production softwares include Reason, Sonar, and Nuendo. Another Mac music production software is Logic Pro. The music industry itself specializes mainly with a software called Protools. It's compatible with both PC and Mac, but is usually the software preferred for studio recording. If you decide to use Protools at all, I recommend that you buy it rather than downloading it for many reasons. Trust me on this one.

Step 2: Lyrics

Of course, music videos don't ALWAYS have lyrics, but if you do decide to, make sure you write lyrics to the instrumental and keep them for the studio recording, which we will get to later. (Lyrical tip: Keep your lyrics fairly clean and it may be more marketable! Make it hilarious or comical, and it may get more plays! Ex. Search "White and Nerdy" on YouTube)

Step 3: Home Studio (Session) Recording

The best software for studio session recording starters is Cool Edit Pro. Cool Edit Pro is only PC compatible though. I learned it on my own through experimentation, but for tutorials, I'm sure you can find them on YouTube. There is also a user manual in the help menu. You can also download Cool Edit Pro for free using Frostwire. For the Mac users, once again, congratulations! You can record yourself using Garageband! To do so after you have finished creating your instrumental on Garageband, at the top click Track> New Track> Real Instrument> Create. You will notice that on the left, a track for recording appears that is titled "No Effects". If you have a microphone plugged in, test it out by speaking into it. The green bar next to "No Effects" should rise every time you speak. If not, check your System Preferences for Sound and switch to Built-In Mic/Internal Microphone. Most Mac laptops have a built-in microphone. Most of them are found on the left speaker at the bottom right side, but only on laptops. For PC laptops, your microphone may be found in the top of the monitor in the middle, left, or right corner.

For more advanced users, session recordings can be done with Protools. You can buy microphones, but the cheap ones are usually not good recording microphones at all. If you have a built-in microphone, you're in luck; because believe it or not, it is better than most microphones under . Just make sure you adjust the volumes of each separate recording you do accordingly, regardless of which mic you use. You can make a bad mic sound much better than it does by altering the volumes.

P.S Tip: How to Autotune

Unfortunately, I only know how to do Autotune with the Fruity Loops users and the Garageband users. For the FL users, you have to download a plug-in called Antares and drag it into Fruity Loops. As for the Mac and Garageband users..... you guys are very lucky. GarageBand comes with a built-in Autotuning system. To use it, at the top click Track> New Track> Real Instrument> Create. If your Audio Region at the bottom is not visible, at the top, click Control> Show Editor, or just press Apple+E. Turn the "Enhance Tuning" in your Audio Region all the way up. Then look just below that switch, and check in the box "Limit to Key".

Step 4: Recording the video

To record the video, you're going to need a decent quality camera. But just because you have a decent quality camera alone doesn't mean that the video is going to be great. It's all about how you put it together. As far as quality goes, I recommend the Jazz Elite HD Portable Camera for starters. It's a 0 high definition camera, but you can get it for only 0 at electrotech.totalwarehouse.com. I haven't found a cheaper high definition video camera online yet, but if I do, I will let you know. Also, looking into getting a tripod would help for stabilization. You can find those at Wal-mart for pretty low prices.

Also, if you're trying to make money on YouTube, make sure to keep other company products' logos and titles out of the video as much as possible. YouTube can prevent money making from almost any logo being shown publicly in your video. This also includes logos on shirts, so just make sure that whatever clothing you choose to wear for the video, that the emblems or logos of your shirt's producers are not visible.

Step 5: Putting the video together

Hook up your camera to the computer and transport all of your video clips in a folder. For PC video production beginners, I recommend using Windows Movie Maker. It comes with every Windows computer. If you can't find it, just click Start (or the windows icon for Vista users) at the bottom left side of the screen. Go to Programs> Accesssories> Windows Movie Maker, or Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Windows Movie Maker. If you can't find it in either of those places, go to My Computer, open up the Local Drive (usually C:), and go to the Program Files folder. Look for a folder called Windows Movie Maker and look for the startup icon. For Mac users, there is iMovie. The video clips can be dragged or imported into both of these programs to use. If your PC or Mac came with the Adobe Collection, you may also use Adobe Premiere Pro, which is compatible with both computers. Adobe After Effects is a more advanced software to use for special effects, but you can easily learn it through 10 short tutorials at videocopilot.net. A much more advanced video editor is Final Cut Pro for the Mac users, used by real industry movie makers.

There are video tutorials for all of these softwares on YouTube, but, in my opinion, Windows Movie Maker is ridiculously easy to use; but Adobe Premiere has more tools and effects that you can do to your video. Adobe Premiere also has green screen keying, which Movie Maker does not have. If you are looking to make music video production or music production a future career, I suggest you look into a college called Full Sail University. It is known as the "Harvard of Entertainment and Media Schools" and has one of the three best film programs in the world and the top 5 Recording Arts programs in the country. It is a high-paced school, and you can receive your Bachelor's in either program in 20 months. To look further into this school, visit the Full Sail website.

Make sure you render your video in a high quality setting too. "Rendering" just means saving the video in video format. The higher the quality, the longer it may take to finish saving the video, but it may be worth it. If you have the Jazz Elite HD Portable Camera, you may not have to worry about quality as much.

Extra Step: Earn Money Through YouTube

To earn money, simply reach over 200,000 views with your video. YouTube will send you instructions on how to set it up and will review your video to make sure that there are no copyright infringements.

But as for music videos in general, I've seen the best and I've seen the worst. The quality of the final product all comes down to how you use these tools to the best of your creative ability. Show laziness in production, and lazy is how the final product will appear to be. Happy music making!

Review of the Traumah Drum Library

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

For music producers today, it is essential that we use high quality drum sounds in beats and instrumentals. Many upcoming producers often buy drum sample kits with famous producer's names on them. For example, a beat maker may want to create an instrumental to sound like producer Dr. Dre or Timbaland so he/she will try to buy their drum sounds. Often times these kits will be labeled "Dr. Dre drums" or "Timbaland drum samples".

Review of the Traumah Drum Library

The problem with many of these kits is that the sounds are often recycled from stock drums in keyboards (Roland Fantom, Korg Triton, Yamaha Motif, etc). This can make a producer's beats sound bland and un-authentic. It also contributes to beats "sounding the same".

Welcome to the Exclusive Sounds

Since becoming a music producer in 2004, I have purchased plenty of drums and sounds, but in 2010 I was introduced to Traumahdrums.com. Traumah is a music producer that specializes in the engineering and crafting of unique drum samples. Upon visiting Traumahdrums.com, I signed up for his mailing list to download a free drum kit.

Over the course of the next year, I received periodic emails from Traumah with music production tips, videos, and plenty of free drums kits. After receiving tons of good information from Traumah I finally decided to invest in one of his drum kits.

The Traumah Drum Library includes 187 organic drum samples exclusively crafted for producers and beat makers. It includes "50 crispy ear stabbing snares, 50 back cracking gut punching kicks, and 37 foreign sounding percussion ranging any where from Western Indian influenced shakers to South African inspired Congo drums". The drum kit also features 30 unique drum loops.

Upon receiving my drum kit, I uploaded the drum sounds in to my music production software. I currently use Reason 5 to make my beats. I uploaded one of the kick drum sounds into the Redrum rack in Reason and was immediately blown away at the thickness and uniqueness of the drum sounds. I went through all of the kicks, snares, claps, percussion, and hi hats in the package and I could tell that each one had been crafted to "knock". With my production roots in hip hop, this was especially pleasing to my ears!

Compare and Contrast

To ensure that the sound I was hearing was not all "hype", I uploaded some of my favorite drum sounds and compared them to the ones in the Traumah Drum Library. Quite frankly, the sounds I was using did not cut the mustard! My favorite kicks, claps, snares, hi hats, and percussion instruments sounded weak compared to Traumah's kit.

I then began to ask the question. Why? Why did Traumah's drums sound better than my favorites? I sought to do an EQ analysis. I brought Traumah's drums and my favorite drums into ProTools to compare and contrast them.

When comparing Traumah's drums to mine I noticed that each drum sample was crafted to fill up the sound spectrum. Kicks had plenty of lift in the low end frequencies as well as some mid. Snares and claps hit hard! In addition, all of the sounds were pre-mixed which was huge for me!

The sounds I was currently using were not pre-mixed. Anyone one who's actually taken the time to mix instruments together knows that it can be an extensive process. The fact that the sounds were pre-mixed saved me valuable time in the engineering department!

Final Verdict

Overall, I am very pleased with the Traumah Drum Library, I use it often in my beats and instrumentals. Since using Traumah Drums, I've noticed an increase in beat sales as well as increased interest from independent artists. The drum library is well worth the purchase price. I would recommend the kit to any serious producer looking to enhance their sound and sharpen their skills.

Raising a Song to Musical Maturity

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

"From the point of ignition to the final drive, the point of the journey is not to arrive...anything can happen." Neil Peart-Prime Mover-1987

Raising a Song to Musical Maturity

So it is with the writing of a song.

Conception;

When writing a song, or that which is the conception, birth, and maturity of a melodic lyrical thought, I get frustrated sometimes when dealing with my songwriting partner because it just never seems to be complete. It seems that we are in a constant state of flux, locked within the forever process of writing. Through revision after revision, and countless recordings, the lyrically melodic creation seems to continue to take on a life of its own. We see this overt manifestation through the blunt reminders and subtle nuances in our everyday lives, in that we are reminded of that once current situation that first sparked the initial conception of a lyric or melody, and in that reflection we come to realize that what reminded us of it applies at the moment in a way that was unseen when it was originally written. At its conception the lyric or song reflected a completely different set of circumstances and/or situations, and through passing frames of time it has been born into it's fruition, most times, more often than not, this growth is different from the original intent or meaning. Hind sight is always 20/20.

Birth;

The passage of time from conception to birth, plays itself out in many intervals of time, it is formulated in some circumstances over a few years, or maybe it may present itself over days or weeks, and at other intervals, it may be as short as a few hours, or as long as decades, but the truth of its original premise remains only when its essence continues to house the seed of its original creation and when the very element that was there from the conception, is now born, and has begun to mature; we, that is the writer/or/writers, as the case may be, are in the end as parents, educating and critiquing our musical children. So let us presume that on the one hand you have an idea, either a melodic or lyrical thought, on the other, the equipment to bring it to its true potential, if this be the case, now you can take your time, you don't have to rush for the completion of a single album. You are the Director, Producer, and Engineer, as well as the Artist. You can openly nurture the creation and help in its development, but understand, it will show its truest form only through revelation, bringing you into its realm where it will find its avenue and therefore withstand the test of time. You may originate it as a song to fit the Rock music genre and after a time it may find its niche in the Country music genre. We will cover this fact further a little later on in the article.

With today's modern recording equipment it is completely possible to develop a song in this manner. An artist needs nothing more than a computer with at least 1 gig of ram, recording software, a recording soundcard, a preamp, a decent condenser microphone, an auxiliary output device, headphones, and musical instruments to record his or her musical compositions. With an investment of under ,000.00, you can write and record songs at your own pace without the investment hassles of traveling to and from the studio. Let us now, for the sake of hypothetical argument, assume that most of you who are reading this article are, at the very least, somewhat established in the intricate patterns and theories of the muse known as music so most of the a-fore mentioned gear is more than likely at your immediate disposal. My song writing partner and I are using an old LLOYD'S AM/FM-8-Track Receiver as our Auxiliary output device, along with a decent set of quality stereo speakers. That being said, it is also understandable that some, who may be reading this article, are perhaps, searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have, and no accidental overdose of gamma radiation need be applied, Thank You Stan Lee.

Maybe you are one of the lucky few, who through a decision to express yourself in this manner, have written an entire poem with several verses, if so then you can go over your poem and access the point of the entire work in order to formulate a chorus and a bridge, a chorus is the repeated section of a song, from the lyrics and begin to write the music to accompany it. This experience happened to me the first time that I wrote a song at the age of 24 and I realized this was a talent that I could develop. More than likely though, a song begins with a creative spark or conception of an interesting riff or a cool lyric. If you are one to write the music first, then the riff can be built upon by adding to it or subtracting from it, Rush's "Limelight" is an example of how one or two basic riffs centered around an A and B chord can be and are varied throughout the song. Once you define your riffs, you need to define your time signatures. Most rock, blues, pop, and country songs are written in 4/4 time, which means four beats to a measure, and one beat to a quarter note. If you are more experimental or into progressive rock, time signatures can be varied into 3/4 time, or three beats to a measure, and one beat to a quarter note, or 6/4 time; six beats to a measure, one beat to the quarter note, and 12/8 time: 12 beats to a measure and 1 beat to an eighth note, some blues songs that are written in this time signature include Allman Brothers Band's "Stormy Monday" and "Statesboro Blues". You can use any variation of time signatures as long as you stick to your defined set of parameters. However, if you are novice to this process, 4/4 time is the most plausible place to start. If you have a keyboard, with a rhythm section, simply pick a beat that you like and play along, this could be a starting place to develop a time signature and a mood for the potential song.

Your riff is based on a key signature. Key signatures are based on the notes you play. For example, a scale in the key of C major is C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, where C is the root, D the 2nd, E the 3rd, F the 4th, G the 5th, A the 6th, B the 7th, and C the 8th or the octave. If you play a C chord in open position on a guitar, it consists of the notes C, E, G, and C which is the root, the third, the fifth and the octave of the C major scale respectively. The most common progression for chords in C major is C, F, G where F consists of the notes F, A, C, F and G has the notes G, B, D, G. This progression of C, F, G is called a 1, 4, 5. The 1, 4, 5 progression is used in many blues, folk, straight ahead rock and pop songs. If you are strumming on a C chord, your riffs that you play over the chord might consist of the notes, C, E, G, A, and B. The C E and G notes are harmonious with the C chord, while the A note gives the flavor of an A minor 7 chord which consists of the notes A, C, E, G, and the B note gives the riff a jazz connotation of a C major 7 chord with the notes of C, E, G, B or you might use a Bb which gives the riff a blues color. If you were to write riffs around the F chord your notes might be F, A, C, D and E and the G chord would consist G, B, D, E, and F. Of course any notes in the scale would work to connect chords and add color.

Your song is developing, are the riffs and chord progressions that you just wrote part of the verse which is basically the same music with different lyrics or are they more attune to the chorus which is basically the same music and lyrics throughout the song? A natural way to differentiate a chorus from a verse is to write the chorus beginning on the note or chord that is the fourth of the verse riff or the relative minor. The Beatles "We Can Work It Out" is in the key of D, the verses concentrate on the D chord and the chorus starts on G or the fourth. In the "Limelight" example, the verse is in the key of B and the chorus is written in the relative minor key of G# minor. A simple change of chords gives your song variation and makes it far more interesting to the ear. After you develop your verse and chorus music, you may want to add a bridge. A bridge is a new piece of music that is usually only played once in the song. While bridges are not essential, many songs contain them to break up the monotony of hearing the same verse, chorus and music over and over. The same rules apply to writing a bridge, for example, if you write a song in the key of C major, your verse might begin on C, your chorus on F, and your bridge may in an A minor. Vocal melodies are written in the same way, if are strumming on a C chord, your voice might carry the notes C, E, G, A, D, C. You can find these notes on a guitar, piano, or keyboard and you can match your voice to the notes.

Now that you have defined the main musical structure of a song, it is time to write the lyrics. If lyric writing is your forte as it is mine, then this part will be easy. Above in this article, I mentioned writing a song in 4/4 time as being the most common time signature. 4/4 time is natural for speaking patterns and many poems are written in 4 verse stanza structures to accommodate the literary device of rhyme. In order to write great lyrics, I find it helpful to be well read, at the very least, any artist must respect the premise that you can not truly write something great, if you've never read what others have written, so read anything that you can: newspapers, blogs, online articles, novels, magazines, etc. Reading will increase your vocabulary and give you a sense of how accomplished writers get their point across. You may also try studying your favorite artist's lyrics on paper, generally you will see that the lyrics, which not only fit nicely into their respective columns, have at the end of each line, a rhyme, but also you will find that because of the multiple senses now being instilled; auditory and visual, you have a scene or setting, that changes the feel when being read as well as listened to. This brings you the reader into a better understanding of the work. After you are done with your reading, take from what you have read the experience of the narrative and go and live an in the world with this new perspective acquired and write down how this new reflection affects you. Passion for life along with emotions, good or bad, makes for great writing.

Once you have written the basic structure of your song with the verse, chorus, and bridge music along with lyrics, you may want to add an intro and/or an Outro. Intros can be initiated simply by starting the verse before the lyrics or by writing an entirely different riff for the beginning as Randy Rhoades did for Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train". Outros can be done as a simple fading of the song at the end, or they can be as dramatic as the end to Rush's "The Spirit of Radio," in which the band inserts at the end a definitive, and distinct portion of the original riff and abruptly shuts it down.

Maturity;

When the song is fully developed and you can play it from start to finish, it is officially born and ready to be shared with the world. Practice the song and trim away its rough edges and take it out to an open stage or play it at a gig. This will give you a good idea of how an audience responds to the song. If it doesn't go over at first, don't be disheartened, an original song often takes time to grow on an audience. Playing the song in front of people will strengthen the song as an autonomous entity and prepare you to record the song. Chances are that you will still feel the need to tweak the song and each time that you play it, it will become stronger.

After you have practiced the song to the point of "perfection", and trust me, I use that term loosely, in regards to my a-fore mentioned song writing partner, it is now time to make a permanent recording. Make sure that your rig is set up properly. I have a condenser mic plugged into a Tube Mp preamp, which is then in turn plugged into an M-Audio soundcard that I installed into my computer. My songwriting partner and I use a form of Krystal recording software, which is relatively simple to use and we have been very happy with it. My partner rigged up an old LLOYD'S AM/FM-8-Track Receiver with a turntable as I mentioned before to the soundcard, this acts as our output from the computer, we can then either plug the headphones in to the stereo for a quality track with no bleed over, as well as listen to a previously laid track and critique it to perfection.

When recording, first you will need a level check to ensure that you are getting the best sounds from your instruments. Set levels and record a short wave. If you get a good level without going into the red, then record your beat into the recording program, this will ensure that proper time is kept when you are playing your instrument. It is advisable to record a scratch track with the instrument and the vocal, and this can be done simply by placing the mic in front of you and reciting the lyrics and playing the chord progression. After you have recorded a decent scratch track (in time), you are ready to record a permanent instrument track. Place the condenser mic six inches from the instrument and play the progression while listening to your scratch track on the headphones in order to eliminate the bleed over. In regards to recording an electric guitar amp or a bass amp, I advise using a dynamic mic placed in front of the a-fore mentioned amp. The beauty of recording on a computer is that if you have an excellent track, you can copy it into another track to double the main instrument. You will want to copy the track or record a second track. Once you have the basic rhythm track, you can decide if you want to add solos or extra instrumentation. If your main instrument is a guitar, then you may decide to put in some background keyboards, harmonicas, basses or hand drums. If this is the case then simply record these tracks separately, if you have musical knowledge, translating from one instrument to the next should not be difficult. When you are ready to record your vocal, place a pop screen six inches in front of the condenser mic, sing directly into the pop screen and record your main vocal and your backups (on separate tracks).

Now comes the technical part of mixing the song. Generally, I find it best to record the tracks raw and add effects in the mix. Working with a mixing program takes experimentation and learning, but a software program such as Krystal or Acid Pro can make this task relatively simple, with a few hours of practice you can find multiple choices and combinations with which to indulge you influences on to said project. Be aware that you need to look for peaking waves, this is when the levels enter the red and cause a scratchy vinyl like crack in the song. You can use an equalizer to ensure that these sounds do not make it into your final mix. Some popular effects are, a chorus pedal, which evens out the overtones in a vocal; a reverb function that allows vocals to be initiated at a larger volume; and a Flange that will give your guitar a sort of spacey effect, in combination with a little distortion you may opt to give the guitar a slightly dirty sound for that grungy edge.

When the song is ready and the mix down process is complete, you can transform it into a wave file and create the fist edition of the finished product. I emphasize," First Edit" with this caution; When you export the file, it may no longer be accessible to another mix down; so it is advisable to make a copy of the working file with the individual tracks before exporting it to a wave file, this way you can retrieve the song and critique it more for an additional finalized version. A wave file is the type of a file that would be recorded onto a CD. When recording onto a CD, you must use a burning program, I recommend using NERO Start Smart software for this application, simply burn the disc at the slowest speed possible in order to ensure the best quality. If you wish to put the song up on a site as an MP3, you will need to find an MP3 converter. Many MP3 converters are available for free download on the net. Just do a search and they are easy enough to find.

At this point you are ready to load the songs on to your desired site and/or burn an album for distribution at your shows. Nero Smart Start also has a CD design cover maker and many CDs and printers are equipped to print directly on to CDs for a professional look.

Once the song is recorded, and distributed in these manners, it can be listened to as an independent entity, not bound to only its parental ear, and this is when it begins to take on a life of its own. Its listeners can pop it into a home CD player or even listen to it on their home computers or in their cars. A friend of ours sometimes plays renditions of some of our original songs at his gigs, bringing to them a new albeit similar guise to the original intent. This is the maturing process, the song is now reaching an audience and spreading its seed, and in its doing so, you know that you have raised a great tune, in the fact that your song is catchy enough that your listeners want to sing along with it and fellow musicians want to cover it. It is now ready as well as willing to seek out and search for those countless displays of passing frames of time that are part of its being born into fruition.

Feel free to attempt the instruction laid out here-in. May you find success in your creative endeavors and continue in the true tradition of artistry; Life is a SpunJacked...Soak it up...Live it LIVE!!! PEACE

Beats Creator - How to Create Beats in Minutes

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

Understanding how to create your own beats can be an exhilarating feeling that's why using a beat creator to assist you is an advantage you should really grab. Everyone is into beat making nowadays and so should you because it's very easy to try and do now and you will have a lot of fun as you create beats through a beat creator tool. Here are some of the advantages that you can experience as a music enthusiast from using a beat maker:

Beats Creator - How to Create Beats in Minutes

Competent Tools

Beat making programs are powerful as they let your focus on your creative ideas and not have to worry about a lot of the things that plagued songwriting in the past. Previously writing songs required the use of expensive studio gear and hiring a producer if you ever wished to write a decent song that had any potential. But today a beat making program lets you take your songwriting and beats to a higher-level then ever before.

Moreover, the virtual music maker can be quite a good partner for people who are always on the run. It's not necessary to leave your artistry behind when you need to be somewhere else since you can bring it with you by using the virtual beat maker. Suppose you're on the road and you coincidentally encounter an inspiration then you don't have to wait before you can create beats.

User Friendly Interface

If a program isn't easy to use then it makes no sense using one. This is especially true of creative based software. If your trying to create beats and the beats making tool is so complicated that it takes way too long to find that song, or sequence the sound then you really are wasting your time. The nice thing now is that the majority of beat making tools are very simple to use, but it pays to learn the intricacies to your program.

Extensive Sound Libraries

Having decent high-quality samples in your beat making tool is essential. While it's true that having an extensive library of pre-sets doesn't automatically mean you can crank our great beats, but it is a nice start. Other things to consider in a beat making program are, can I layer the samples? Does the program let you use a keyboard or USB controller. All these things are essential components to think about in a beats making program.

Sell Your Beats

Selling your beats is a rewarding experience. Knowing you can create and write beats that sell is a good way to start making royalties on your songs. Some beat creators help you with this by offering exclusive memberships to sites where song publishers and producers go when evaluating songs to license for their tv or film projects.

The beat creator also contains everything that you'll require such as the software to create beats, lessons and tutorials as well as documentation or recorded copies of your beats so it's worth investing on for a music enthusiast.

Tips For Finding Hot Beat Making Software

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

Personally, after reading all the free information I could find I was still stuck because I didn't have adequate TOOLS to get started. So I went searching for a system that had the complete package - I didn't have to read a lot of books that gave me the basics but none of the nitty gritty, and I didn't have to download 5 different software programs (that didn't integrate) and was difficult to get a decent sound together.

Tips For Finding Hot Beat Making Software

I didn't have a lot of money to buy studio time (and I didn't have the experience straight away to justify the cost of this) and I certainly didn't have the money to purchase a whole heap of equipment to get going so I went looking for a good software download that could do it all.

There are some great beat making software that you can find online - I highly recommend finding one to download onto your computer because it is a lot faster to use from your own PC and you can upload your own sounds to incorporate into the software and make your beats sound fantastic!

I also found that it was a lot quicker to start making beats online fast with one powerful all-inclusive software program than trying to Google all the different questions I had, sort through the responses and keep going with banging out beats.

What you need to look for is a software program that already has everything integrated to start producing your own rap music, hip hop beats or any style that you want.

It will need to include a lot of different quality samples that you can put together - you don't want to be limited in your creativity because you didn't have access to quality samples. You should also be able to add embellishments into the music such as special effects - fade outs, reverb etc.

You also need a sequencer! A sequencer is where you can integrate you drum, keys, voices etc into your timeline. Good beat making software should have a sequencer that can allow you to import your own sounds AND also include quality mastered libraries - and by quality I mean AT MINIMUM 44.1 stereo 16 bit.wav files.

Don't go looking for MP3 music production software either. While it sounds okay, it is already second generation compressed sounds so when you compress them down further to MP3 to have your 'master' - do you think the sound quality will really be any good? I doubt it, definitely not what it can be. And if you are interested in selling those beats to someone? Think again, they will not take you seriously.

You also need to consider your drum machine panel and your sampling keyboard - some beat making software have a keyboard trigger assigned to it which means that you can bang out your beats on your drum machine and sampling keyboard using the keyboard that you type on which is pretty awesome.

Also make sure that the software you are using has a pretty comprehensive tutorial package. While making your own beats is awesome fun, you will still need a few lessons to get going and if you find the right software that has great tutorials then you will get going in next to no time.

Oh and before I forget... make sure that the software that you start using has frequent updates! One thing that I found annoying with some software packages is that they didn't update their sounds with any fresh content... I never thought to check for that because I thought all software packages would do that but they don't. You need access to software that is always offering you fresh quality sounds.

Finally, all you will need now is to be able to burn your sick new beats to CD! Then you can show off your hot new sounds to anyone and everyone. If you are interested in selling your beats then get them out there! Radio stations, music producers, You Tube, DJ's for their club music, even put your own voice on it... the possibilities are endless.

Go and start creating some awesome beats - find yourself a hot beat maker online and maybe we will be hearing your hot beats over the airwaves soon!

How to Sell Beats Like a Business Owner

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

Do you want to have your own beat selling business? If you know how to make simple but creative beats using some beat maker software, then you can have a very profitable business in this area. More and more people are getting into the beat making business because it is not only easy, it is also very enjoyable. Just imagine taking your creations online and making some money out of them. Passionate beat makers are even happy just to get them sold. Here is how you can make money from the beat selling business.

How to Sell Beats Like a Business Owner

1) Treat Your Beats Like Your Goods

Remember, that even if this is a creative or service-oriented business, you still need to treat your beats like they are your goods. You need to ensure the quality, deliver what your customer wants and deliver them on time. With this, you will be able to get more clients. With more clients, you are on your way to landing the big deals and with these deals. With this, you will be one of the expert beat makers in the industry.

But before we go there, let me first discuss how you can treat your beats like they are your goods. First, you need to ensure the quality. When it comes to beat making, it is very important that you take the time to mix the music so that it evokes what your client wants to evoke. You should also take the time in listening to your beats. Some people are lazy and they just mix some instruments hoping that it makes a good beat. While most of you will start this way, it is very important to focus on quality from the onset.

Next, it will help if you will work closely with your clients. This way, you can ask them about what they want and deliver your beats just the way they want it. Now if you are not creating custom beats for your client, you may want to do a brief study of the market. This way, you can learn about what sells and what does not.

And last but not the least, always send your custom beats on time. Do not sign a contract with a client and do a measly job. This can tarnish your reputation in the industry. So once you get a project, do it and deliver it in a professional manner. The worst error you can commit is to slack off. After all, this is not a way to treat a business.

2) Keep a List of Satisfied Clients

When you have sold your beats as your good, then you should also keep a list of satisfied clients. You can do this by asking your clients for testimonials. This will help your business because your clients will be informed about what you can do. If you can, also keep a list of beats that you have created. This way, you have something to show your potential clients in case they ask for some samples.

So are you interested in having your own beat selling business? If you treat this seriously and do your beats well, then you are on your way to bigger deals.

Download a Hip-Hop Beat Maker

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

With the incredible growth of Internet technology it is now possible to download a hip-hop beat maker wherever you are in the world 24 hours a day. There are lots of different programs to choose from with a huge price range and a huge variation in quality.

Download a Hip-Hop Beat Maker

You can spend as little as or as much as 00 just for one download. Yes there are a few free versions but if you go for this option you will be left wanting more. For example many of the free software programs do not allow you to edit or export your music. So you could be left with a track that has a bunch of errors and it can only be played on your computer.

Obviously I don't recommend spending a huge amount of money unless you are a professional producer and own a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art recording studio!

For the home-based musician there are plenty of incredibly high quality downloads that produce professional beats for as little as .

The best programs in this price range will have all of the features you need. Including a full edit feature so you can perfect your track, a simple interface that allows you to drag and drop your sounds where you want them, a variety of beats and sound effects and the all-important export feature.

I like to be able to burn my tracks directly onto CD or export them as an MP3, both are highly useful and I recommend downloading a program that lets you do that.

Before you download a hip-hop beat maker go to a website that reviews one or two of the best programs out there. Stick to a price range of between and to ensure you get good value but still good quality.

How To Use A Remix Maker Like A Professional DJ

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

The remix maker has become a huge help to the music studio producer, when it comes to organizing his projects. Gone are the days, when you needed a lot of physical hardware and cables all over the place to create your music. These days the same effects can be generated on your computer screen with just a few mouse clicks or keystrokes.

How To Use A Remix Maker Like A Professional DJ

By crafting pitch, volume and speed individually for each recorded sound sample, and then saving it to a database, anyone can create music mixes like a DJ. You can place each sound exactly where it is most needed to structure the beat or melody according to your musical ideas. When the almost unlimited reach of software is used, the art of composition becomes both fluid and flexible. Even standard sound effects like reverb, delay, compression and expansion can be brought to a whole new level. In the digital formats of today, the ranges of possibilities are so much wider. If you want to explore first hand what a remixer can do for your sound, a good start would be to browse some of the online varieties.

The website jamstudio

Utilizing controls that remind vaguely of spreadsheet programs, the screen is divided between four decks. You choose the chords in the top left deck, anything from A to G#. There is enough space to set five pages of music, each page featuring 16 bars of music. The time signature is changeable between three or four beats per bar. Move on to the right hand deck to choose your chords and add up to eight different tracks of instrumentation from the bottom right hand deck. You can even swap the playing sequence of your compositions around. Some of the samples are exclusive to the pay version of this website, but even the free version still puts some creative control in your hands. The tempo goes from 62 to 151 beats per minute.

The website looplabs

You can access five types of online remixing studios, each with their own identity and upload your creations directly to your MySpace account. However, the application takes fairly long to come online and you need to register to be able to use it. On the plus side, there are a few instructional videos to demonstrate the various uses of the programs.

In the early days of analog recordings, bands and songwriters had to plan their studio time and the nature of their recordings to be as near perfect as possible. Today, almost anything can be fixed or enhanced through the capabilities of a remix maker.

3 Things Your Beat Making Software Must Have

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

If you are looking for a beat making software, then make sure that it satisfied at least 3 basic requirements. It is not an easy task with hundreds of these beat makers online out there to choose from. However, these are the 3 things that a good software should come with.

3 Things Your Beat Making Software Must Have

I have tested with a lot of these software and found that they are lacking in many ways. And to sum it all, these are the 3 main criteria that you should look for when choosing your beat maker:

After sales service and technical support. This is the top in my list. You see, we are not buying a book where no support is needed but software that constantly requires update etc. It will be frustrating if you cannot find somebody to help you when you have a problem, or that you were made to wait a few days before you get a reply. This happens more frequent with online purchase. Sometimes, customer service is a non-existence. Therefore, be sure that you can contact the owner or their support team before you pull out your wallet.

Detailed video tutorials and documentation. I have never read the instruction manual that comes with all electrical products that I bought. There were so many words and the fonts were so small that it really turns me off. You can call me lazy but isn't it more helpful if they have video tutorials instead. Unless the software is very user friendly and totally self intuitive. Watching how to use it itself is fun.

The software must have extensive editing functions. You will be severely limited if it has little editing functions. The more editing functions it has, the more unique beats you can create. Imagine an 8 track music sequencer vs a 16 track music sequencer. Which one do you think will give you more flexibility? That's right! Besides the sequencer, it should also come with tempo adjustment, track volume controls, drum machine, ample chords and tracks; drums, guitar, piano, brass, loops, combos, etc.

The one that I'm using to make beats online also comes with MP3 export ability meaning that I can save the beats that I have made in MP3 format. And this is really important as MP3 file format is the most popular media format that can be played on most if not all media players. You will also have access to a member area that provides unlimited usage with lots of music instrument download, free music beats download to start with and lots of tutorials on chord charts, rhythm exercises, etc. for just a one time fee.

What Type of Input Is Best for Making Beats, Keyboard or Drum Pads?

,
BEAT MUSIC MAKER :

With the proliferation of so many amazing technologies with which to create drum samples, the aspiring and sometimes even the professional musician may be at a loss to decide which is the best method for their music to use. If, like many musicians you are operating on a tight budget and already happen to own a keyboard, then the question of spending more for new gear may be prohibitive. While there are exciting new less expensive models of devices that create awesome drum samples, if your existing keyboard already does the job and you are happy enough for now with its results, then perhaps you can hold off for a while and be able to eat instead.

What Type of Input Is Best for Making Beats, Keyboard or Drum Pads?

A lot may also depend of the type of musician that you are. Someone who is a total keyboard player with a limited background in percussion may be more comfortable with the familiar feel of the keys. A musician that may be more percussively oriented, like a person that started out playing the drums and has moved on to playing keyboards, might therefore be more at home creating their drum samples using real drum sticks and pads that deliver a nice feeling of impact with at least some modest rebounding capability.

It may be hard to duplicate the primal feel of pounding on a surface with a stick as opposed to pressing on plastic with your fingers. Though if you are more of a keyboard oriented musician then that still may be best for your strengths. A well financed musician can avoid this quandary by investing in both a keyboard that will perform the task as well as the drum pad sequencers.

Why not have dueling devices and let them play off of each other? Try several takes on your drum track using each method and then compare or even combine the results. Splice and dice with a few measures dedicated to each device. Most of all, remember to be creative. Don't procure all this great new technology and play the same tired old riffs. Resolve to move out of the humdrum and into the world of the elite beat makers. Find your groove by tapping your inner creativity, not retreading others' work. Of course, retreading, or interpreting someone's music is a creative act in itself. The Beatles jammed on a Buddy Holly tune for hours and wound up with 'Love Me Do'. Going beyond this mixed message to quote that ultimate of writers Erich Von Daniken, from his book 'Proof', 'Duo quum idem faciunt non est idem-When two people do the same thing, it is not the same.'

2. The second consideration is where to get your drum beats from. They can be downloaded, sampled from online sources, created by a drum beat maker, or you can create them yourself own your own beat making application.
